Research at Center for Molecular Cell Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences
Under PhD mentorship, I investigated autism spectrum mechanisms, conducted observations and data analysis, and connected neurobiology to human cognition. This work challenged my prior assumption that autism is a genetic deficit, and shifted my perspective that neurodiversity is not a deficit—it is a different way of processing the world.
John Locke Essay Competition
Competed in the John Locke Essay Competition, crafting a psychological argument on the rising mental illness prevalence. I reasoned to address potential counterarguments, which ultimately helped my essay stand out around the world. This competition deepened my understanding of how psychological research connects to the real public health challenges, and strengthened my ability to reason and think critically on complex social issues.
